Kentuckiana’s Premier Women’s Network for Leaders, Entrepreneurs, and Professionals
The WO Network's thriving community is built on the belief that when women support one another, incredible things happen. From networking events to educational opportunities, we empower women to lead with purpose, grow their businesses, and make a lasting impact in their industries and beyond.

The WO Network is Kentuckiana's community for professional women who lead, build, and drive change. Here, entrepreneurs, executives, founders, nonprofit leaders, and civic leaders connect, collaborate, and amplify each other's impact.

A region where professional women are recognized as the economic and civic backbone of Kentuckiana and where every woman has the community, resources, and opportunity she needs to lead, build, and thrive.

Why the Poppy?
At The WO Network, the poppy flower holds deep significance as our emblem, symbolizing the resilience, diversity, and interconnected spirit that defines our community. Its vibrant beauty and enduring strength perfectly reflect the core values and mission of our network.
Resilience
The poppy is a symbol of resilience, known for its ability to thrive even in the harshest conditions. Just like the poppy, the women within our network exhibit extraordinary strength and perseverance, overcoming challenges and flourishing in their personal and professional pursuits.
Vibrancy & Diversity
Poppies bloom in an array of vibrant colors, symbolizing the richness of diversity. At The WO Network, we celebrate the unique backgrounds, industries, and experiences of our members, believing that our diversity makes us stronger and more innovative.
Community and Connection
Poppies often grow in clusters or fields, representing community and interconnectedness. Similarly, our network fosters a collaborative environment where women support and uplift one another, creating opportunities for shared growth and collective success.
Celebration & Remembrance
Poppies are also associated with remembrance and celebration, honoring achievements and milestones. Within our network, we celebrate every success, big or small, while honoring the journeys and stories that brought us here.
Overcoming Tall Poppy Syndrome
The phrase "Tall Poppy Syndrome" refers to the social tendency to cut down individuals who achieve significant success or stand out. At The WO Network, we are determined to do the opposite. Here, we celebrate every accomplishment, every dream, and every unique talent.
When one of us rises, we all rise together. We are creating a culture where women can thrive without fear of judgment or competition—a space where success is shared and celebrated.
What is Tall Poppy Syndrome?
Tall Poppy Syndrome (TPS) occurs when individuals are criticized, resented, or even attacked because of their achievements or success. This silent, systemic issue disproportionately affects women, creating barriers to thriving in professional and personal spaces. Often, those who stand out or excel are cut down, leading to diminished confidence and productivity—not just for the individual but for the organizations they serve.
